St. Linus, Pope. St. Thecla, 1st. Cent. St. Adamnan, Abbot, A. D. 705.
On the 23d of September, 1751, a man ran, driving a coach-wheel, from the Bishop's-head in the Old Bailey, to the eleventh mile stone at Barnet, and back again, in three hours and fifty-one minutes, having four hours to do it in, for a wager of 50l.*[1]
