My dearest Rose,

1.1.1.

Since I wrote on Saturday a considerable alteration has taken place in our beloved Father. His extreme weakness increases daily — we will write again in a day or two we will be sure to write to you if there is any serious change in our dear Father.

Mr Woolaston has just been—and say[s] he is easier and that is all he can say. Do not distress yourself as we shall write again soon.

Our beloved Father is perfectly calm and collected and is in a delightful frame of mind. In all his sufferings bearing them with perfect patience and in his mind enjoying perfect peace. Truly God is good to see giving His comfort to our dear Father.

Your affec't sister
Ellen

In great haste
