Mr. Lewis's, 1 Garden Court, Temple
Sir,

1.1.1.

I read with a great deal of pleasure your notification of continuing the Every Day Book next year, & I hope it will be attended with as much success as ever, & that you may have health & good reasons to continue it, but I think, as you have notified in your prospectus at the commencement of the present volume, that the work will be completed within a year, that you ought to give some sort of a prospectus as ext of the next volume, explaining the reason of its continuation, giving some idea of its intended contents, & (as we lawyers have it) shewing cause why it should bear the name of the "Every Day Book" the other having been announced as complete when the volume now in hand shall be finished. Perhap I may be premature in my writing to you on this subject if so — you will excuse me giving you the trouble, but if not you may perhaps favor your readers with a prospectus.

Several of my friends who take in the work have suggested to me the propriety of asking you if you do not intend to give a portrait of yourself to face the Title Page of the Every Day Book, such in my opinion it would improve the work.

I sent you two or three communications relative to Xmas the beginning of the year — which I hope you will insert.

Wishing you the joys & happy returns of the Season you are now about describing

I remain Sir
Your Nble Srvt
& Constant reader as
long as you please to publish.
D. B. Curwen
